Matt Thurston

Matt was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but he fell in love with Maine as a kid visiting his grandparents in Brooksville. After working on Deer Isle for a couple summers, he moved to Maine full time in 2016.

Matt was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but he fell in love with Maine as a kid visiting his grandparents in Brooksville. After working on Deer Isle for a couple summers, he moved to Maine full time in 2016.

Before turning to real estate, he worked as a chef and he and his wife Kate owned a restaurant in Blue Hill.   His interest in real-estate was first piqued while looking for housing for employees. This led to an investment in a fixer-upper and growing interest in real-estate. He hopes to continue investing in long term rental properties to improve workforce housing availability in the area, as well as helping new and existing members of the community find places to call their own.

In his free time Matt enjoys woodworking and sailing, and spending as much time as possible with his family.
